The book "South Beach" is a great read. It covers the death and rebirth of this phat ocean front town. After reading this book it made me want to learn more about Art Deco and how Art Deco made South Beach. I recently went to South Beach and had a blast. If you can't visit South Beach, reading this book will let you know how this exciting place came about.

I have visited South Beach eight times in the past three years and found it very exicting. This book has helped me understand the beginnings of South Beach and the meaning behind Art Deco. Although I fell in love with South Beach at first sight this book makes me love it even more. The book was very well written and the illustrations were very nice. Now that I have read this book I would like to purchase more on South Beach. I hope to visit South Beach again soon and this book makes a good directory.

I love this book. I've had it for over a year now and it's one of my most used design books for inspiration. It's always on my nightstand.

I have just purchased a lot at a new beach development called Watercolor right next to Seaside, Fl and am in the process of learning about the styles of decorating that I like. I saw a copy of this book at the sales center today and thought, wow, this will be a great guide for me. Some decorating books seem kind of over-the-top, but this one is beautiful and some of the looks seem attainable after studying them. I plan to have my own copy soon!

A powerful book that speaks to the truth of what happened at Country Walk Day Care. "Witch Hunts" my foot! These children are still alive, and still live among us, and still suffer the traumatizing effects of what happened to them, as do their families and anyone close to them who has been affected by Frank and Iliana Fuster and whoever they were working with and for.

It is true that a majority of visible nay-sayers have said that the history of ritualized child abuse in this country is nothing more than a "hoax." Consider the source. And consider who benefits.

The ritualized sexual abuse of children continues. The media coverage does not. The hidden agenda of those who would kidnap and torture children remains hidden, and children continue to disappear.

"Unspeakable Acts" speaks to the issue of those acts that remain, so to speak, unspeakable. Survivors have been efficiently silenced -- but not entirely. The story is not over yet.

It is too bad this book is out of print -- but it is still possible to find a copy, and it is well worth having. It is powerful and volatile history, and yes, "another brick in the wall."

This book is the detailed story of the case of Frank and Illeana Fuster and the Country Walk, Florida case of child abuse in a day care center. It was recently rehashed on PBS' Frontline, and low and behold! there are more questions now than ever before!

I read this book in the early 1990s and was mesmerized by all the accounts of so-called sexual abuse of children in day care centers. But guess what, since that time, there have been virtually no incidents of such a thing! I live near Los Angeles, and I watched with great interest the McMartin PreSchool case around the same time wherein all the defendents were eventually acquitted of hundreds of counts of child sexual abuse.

The theory used to be "Why would a child lie? You can trust what a child says. Where else would a child hear these (crude) sexual terms and know about sexual acts?" But times have changed........And interview techniques for children have come under scrutiny and have been left lacking, to say the least.

Why were there so many of these cases ten years ago, and none now? Is the media just not reporting it? Is it not happening anymore? Did it ever happen?

This was truly a mesmerizing book and I remember thinking it was a journalistic reportage and therefore unbiased, but now I'm not so sure. Illeana was eventually deported after serving some time in prison, but because she testified against her husband, Frank is still in prison, serving a 165 year term. Has justice been done in this case?

If you can find a copy of this huge book, read it with an unbiased eye, and remember, while you are reading it, that it was, or may have been, written during one of the USAs many "witch hunts". (Why do we still have them?) This is a very readable and shocking book. Too bad it isn't still in print because it is a very important book, as well.

This is a great concept and a wonderfully written comprehensive guide

This book was perfect!! Just the right blend of love and heartache to make a perfect story. I think this is one of her best! Not as steamy as some of hers, it is a very good cold winter's night book to curl up with.

The beautiful drawings of different people convey the sense of the building of a peculiar and colorful style which goes far beyond drawing suggesting a way to see architecture and the city

Birdcage's screenplay has a couple scenes that are written differently than in the movie--but reading them is just as funny as watching the movie itself. The written structure is wonderful.

Dunn's book is a MUST READ for anyone who "truly" desires to learn the history of Miami. Black Miami is fantastically written and maintains the utmost quality and clarity. His work is short and snappy, based on fact and quickly gets to the point. It covers specifically the history of Miami, utilizing the Black perspective. Dunn intelligently separate his work into four sections. Beginning with the first Blacks in South Florida, ending with modern times. Dunn stresses various social, political and economic challenges that persons of African descent residing in Florida faced. He goes into extensive details with the 1980 riot, mentioning its origins and elaborating on what exactly took place.

In all, Dunn does an excellent job aiding readers to better understand the complicated inner politics of 20th century Miami. Black Miami in the Twentieth Century is certain edify one as to why Miami is in the position it is today.

Growing up in Alabama I had heard about the tradition of Alabama Football. The only history I was familiar with prior to this book was Paul "Bear" Bryant 70's-80's. I didn't know about the earlier years of Alabama football. After reading this book I understand the RICH Tradition of Alabama football. This book is a History book of Alabama football. I reccommend this book to any college football fans,especially Alabama fans who like me may only remember the Bryant 70's-80's years.Knowledge is the key to understanding Alabama Football.
